What should I expect from a Little Swings class?
What to expect from a Little Swings class?
Each class will have a child friendly theme to encourage engagement on the child’s terms. From circle time where they hear and chat about the week’s theme, a fun warm up with original Little Swings music, to fun golf content using imaginative play and finishing off with a goodbye song and the handing out of stickers. We understand that every child will enjoy different parts of the class and sitting out at times will be common. Each class will deliver fun, inclusiveness, and lasting memories.
Where are classes held?
We have an expanding network of EYFS settings and community spaces holding classes. The equipment used in Little Swings classes is age appropriate and means that smaller spaces can host fantastic sessions.
Who runs the classes?
All classes are run by DBS checked and Little Swings trained coaches who follow the company ethos of developing children as individuals and fostering their love of the game.
Why will playing golf benefit my child?
Golf is beneficial to Early Years Foundation Stage children because it develops fine and gross motor skills, improves hand-eye coordination, encourages focus and patience, supports social interaction through turn-taking, and promotes physical activity in a calm, enjoyable environment.
Why is music integral to the classes?
Music is vital in the EYFS because it supports a child's holistic development by fostering language, communication, physical skills, cognitive abilities, and social-emotional growth through engaging and enjoyable activities.
Can 2-4 year olds swing a golf club?
Children from as young as 2 can develop a vast array of golf specific movements including the correct set-up technique to full back swings and through swings. Using age appropriate lightweight equipment will give them additional control and reduce the chance of injury. Encouraging better hand eye coordination at an early age will make transitioning into other sports easier as they grow.
